Independent energy consultants helping Scottish businesses navigate the renewable transition.
Rain-dolphin was founded in 2019 by energy engineers who spent a decade working on large-scale renewable projects across Scotland. We saw a gap between aspirational sustainability goals and the practical engineering required to achieve them.
Too many consultancies deliver reports that sit on shelves. We focus on actionable designs—systems that can actually be built, financed, and operated within the constraints of real facilities.
Our team includes specialists in electrical engineering, building physics, financial modeling, and regulatory compliance. Several of us hold Chartered Engineer status and maintain active involvement in industry working groups.
We measure first, then recommend. Every proposal is backed by load analysis, weather modeling, and financial projections specific to your site.
Not every building is suitable for solar. Not every operation can switch to heat pumps. We tell you what won't work, not just what might.
We review contractor bids, attend site meetings, and verify installation quality. Our job isn't finished when we hand over a report.
We're not tied to specific equipment manufacturers or installers. Our recommendations are based on performance data and lifecycle costs.
Our consultants maintain professional registration with the Energy Institute and hold certifications in ISO 50001 energy management systems. We're active members of the Scottish Renewables association and regularly contribute technical input to local planning authorities on energy infrastructure proposals.
Several team members also teach part-time at Glasgow's engineering programs, keeping us connected to emerging research in grid integration and storage technologies.
We're currently accepting new consulting engagements for Q4 2026 and early 2027.
